Have you ever looked up and realized it’s been days- or even weeks – since you truly connected with God? In this post, I share how I found my way from spiritual busyness back to sacred stillness, and how you can rebuild your own sacred space with grace, not guilt.

There have been seasons in my life when I’ve looked up and realized days – or even weeks – had gone by without a real moment with God. Not because I didn’t love Him, but because life just got loud.

The schedules, the lists, the needs – all good things in their place – had somehow crowded out that quiet space I used to protect.

During my recent livestream, I shared about this very thing: how to rebuild our sacred spaces. It wasn’t a message from a mountaintop; it was one I’ve lived. I’ve been in that place of drift—and by God’s grace, I’ve found my way back to sacred rhythm.

When Sacred Space Slips Away

Let’s be honest: it’s hard to maintain intimacy with God when life feels like a never-ending checklist. The noise can drown out His whisper. The demands of family, work, and even ministry can leave you spiritually weary.

That’s where I was when the Lord began stirring my heart again – reminding me that sacred space isn’t about striving; it’s about being. It’s not about checking off “quiet time” but about reconnecting to the Source of life itself.

So, I asked my viewers to get real:
What’s been hardest for you – finding time, staying focused, or feeling connected?
Because naming the struggle is often the first step toward rebuilding.

Choosing Sacred Time – Before the Day Chooses You

One of the ways I began reclaiming my sacred space was by waking up early – before the day had a chance to claim me. It wasn’t easy. But here’s what I discovered: when you decide first, grace follows.

It’s not about perfection – it’s about showing up. Every time you take a small step toward God, He meets you there. Every time you choose stillness over scroll time, or prayer over pressure, grace flows.

When the Word and the Spirit Work Together

I’ve learned that real transformation happens when the Word and the Spirit come together.

The Word is my anchor – Truth that never shifts.
The Spirit is my fresh oil – what breathes life into that Truth and makes it personal.

When I pray the Word, teach the Word, or declare the Word over a situation, the Spirit brings it to life. That’s when confidence rises in prayer, and peace replaces striving.

The two were never meant to be separate – our souls need both Bread and Oil.

My Tabernacle Time

A couple of years ago, the Lord spoke a phrase to my heart: Tabernacle Time. It became the name for my personal sacred space—a time to meet with Him, spirit to Spirit.

Some days that looks like worship; other days it’s communion, journaling, or intercession. I even made a simple checklist of activities I can turn to when I feel stuck or distracted. It helps me keep that space alive and fresh.

If you’ve never done this before, try it. Make a list. Ask the Holy Spirit what helps you connect most deeply with Him. There’s no formula – just a relationship.

Rebuilding, One Step at a Time

At the end of the livestream, I invited everyone watching to take one small step this week to rebuild their sacred space.

Maybe it’s five minutes of worship before bed.
Maybe it’s taking communion at home.
Maybe it’s praying over your family before work.

Start small. Be consistent. The goal isn’t a longer list—it’s a softer heart.

The Higher Pursuit Always Leads to Him

This journey of rebuilding my sacred space has reminded me that God isn’t after our performance; He’s after our presence. He wants to walk with us, speak to us, and renew our hearts daily.

So if you’ve drifted a little, don’t let guilt drive you away – let grace draw you back. Because every step you take toward Him, He’s already running toward you.

Stay rooted. Stay faithful. Keep pursuing Him – because the Higher Pursuit always leads home.
