Hello, dear friends! I’m Cecily Lachapelle, and I’m thrilled to share some insights from our recent livestream where we explored the profound topic of hearing God’s voice. It’s a subject close to my heart, and I believe it’s one of the most important conversations we can have.

Understanding God’s Communication

During our time together, I addressed a struggle many of us face: feeling like we can’t hear God. I want to assure you that hearing God’s voice isn’t about being perfect; it’s about having faith. As I shared from Deuteronomy 28 and Hebrews 3:15, God is a communicator, and we are made in His likeness to hear Him.

And if you faithfully obey the voice of the LORD your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. ~ Deuteronomy 28:1 ESV

As it is said, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.” ~ Hebrews 3:15 ESV

Breaking Down Barriers

I know some of you might feel that God’s voice is reserved for the spiritually elite, but that’s simply not true. Through personal stories and biblical examples, I illustrated that God’s voice is accessible to all His children. Whether it’s through scripture, the Holy Spirit, or even dreams and visions, God speaks in various ways.

One analogy I shared was about bank tellers who learn to recognize counterfeit money not by studying the fakes, but by knowing the real thing so well that any deviation is immediately apparent. Similarly, we need to know God’s voice intimately to discern when something isn’t from Him.

Practical Steps to Hear God’s Voice

I encouraged everyone to create sacred spaces in their lives, free from distractions, where they can listen for God’s guidance. By setting aside just seven minutes a day, we can open ourselves to divine communication. It’s a small step that can lead to profound changes.

I also shared a personal story about a time when I was praying in the night for my granddaughter, Eliana, who was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer. In that moment of desperation, I felt God’s voice speaking through me, turning my prayers into a powerful declaration of faith. It was a reminder that God’s voice is our source of strength and healing.

A Call to Action

As we wrapped up the livestream, I challenged you to actively seek God’s voice in your daily lives. Write down your thoughts and impressions during these quiet moments and share your experiences with others. By doing so, we not only strengthen our own faith but also help others on their spiritual journeys.

I also used the analogy of a rodeo cowboy, explaining that God won’t force us to listen like a cowboy lassoing a calf. Instead, we must create the space and time to hear Him willingly.

Join the Conversation!

Remember, hearing God’s voice is a journey, not a destination. It’s about being open to the many ways God communicates and being willing to share that journey with others. God’s voice is a gift, meant to guide, comfort, and empower us in our daily lives.
